OUR GOAL
Development of novel therapeutics
‘from (lab) bench to (clinic) bedside’
Recent developments of biomedical research greatly expended our understanding of human diseases and provided many new drugs;
however, innumerable intractable diseases remain in need of novel therapeutics based on innovative development. Our pipelines therefore MUST
(1) for which effective therapeutics do not yet exist, AND
(2) start from the biological EMT background (bench) of specific incurable diseases (bed), AND
(3)utilize clear biological mechanisms which address the scientific causality of specific diseases, AND
(4) be directed by physicians with both clinical and research expertise related to the disease.

and novel target (bench to bed)
Wnt and TGF-β pathways are mainly responsible for Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT),
a biological program with a hallmark role in many intractable diseases including many chronic fibrotic diseases and cancer.
We aim to develop recombinant polypeptide and small molecule therapeutics based on a novel mode of action
(i.e. MET 'Mesenchymal-Epithelial Transition') which targets Wnt and TGF-β to reverse EMT.
In-depth understanding of EMT
in human diseases (bed to bench)
While our biomedical understanding has greatly expanded over recent decades due to developments in genetics and informatics,
we are still “The Tortoise” in understanding the biomedical nature of human disease.
Persistent endeavor to understand EMT in diverse human diseases!
